iPhone 15 display will regain rounded screen edges
According to various sources and multiple rumours, Apple would like to adopt another new design for the iPhone 15's screen bezels. Indeed, since the iPhone 12, the screen bezels have been flat. However, the screen is going to remain flat, according to leaker ShrimpApplePro. Read more about this interesting choice by Apple in this article.
iPhone 15 screen
The screens will have the same diagonals as current models, according to ShrimpApplePro. All iPhone 15 models would also get the Dynamic Island with two camera holes in the screen, as is the case with the current iPhone 14 Pro models. This rumour also circulated a bit earlier. The Dynamic Island has been very well received by the public, making the choice to apply it in all devices quite logical. In addition, the screens will thus remain flat, but the screen edges will be rounded as before. This was also the case up to and including the iPhone 11, after which it changed to thus flat bezels.
Rumour mill turns full for Apple
Around this time of year, it is natural for the first rumours about new devices from Apple to come out. It is customary that around January and February, the first drawings of new models leak out, thus also allowing a picture to be formed of what the new iPhone models will look like. However, there are no reliable images at the moment, but many suspicions. Often, these suspicions are also reality.
Similarity to Apple Watch S8
Rounded screen edges have a big advantage; they look a bit smaller. In addition, Apple actually wants to make the screen bezels smaller, making them more similar to those of the Apple Watch S8. Although this will only apply to the iPhone 15 Pro. According to leakers, the entry-level iPhone 15 would get slightly thicker bezels, but so would the Dynamic Island. With this, Apple is pulling the designs of the different iPhone models equally, with a thus slightly more refined design for the more expensive Pro models. Very interesting, as it just seemed that Apple was creating more and more difference between the entry-level and Pro models.
Still unclear about iPhone 15 Plus
It is as yet unclear what Apple's intention is with the iPhone 15 Plus. Indeed, that model is not mentioned by sources. It is suspected that sales numbers of the iPhone 14 Plus are not that good, so it remains unclear whether Apple is working on its successor. There are rumours that Apple has scrapped the model, striking since the Plus was the replacement for the iPhone Mini. Whether this is really the case will be revealed in autumn 2023. Traditionally, that is when Apple announces the new iPhones. In any case, we cannot wait to see what Apple will bring us this year in terms of iPhones!
