Launch of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 may come sooner than thought
According to Sammobile, Samsung is considering bringing forward the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5. Samsung is likely to do so because of the arrival of the Google Pixel Fold. Unpacked event
Every year, Samsung holds its Unpacked event at set times. Normally one at the beginning of the year for the Samsung Galaxy S models and in autumn for the Galaxy Z models. So possibly this latest event will come earlier, perhaps even before the summer. This is so as not to compete directly with the Google Pixel Fold. Although Samsung has been announcing foldables around the same time for years now while there are more and more competitors, but now possibly moving the event up because of Google is remarkable. Samsung obviously does have dominance in the foldable device market and obviously wants to keep it that way. Hence the decision not to make potential Galaxy Z consumers wait any longer than necessary and especially not when Google is going to release its Pixel Fold at the end of June. According to latest reports, Samsung is considering holding the Unpacked event in Busan, South Korea.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 specifications
Rumours are also starting to emerge about what the Z Fold 5 will look like and its specifications. For instance, it looks like Samsung is going to use a gapless hinge. This will give you a flatter device that will possibly be a few millimetres thinner than its predecessors. The dimensions of the Galaxy Fold 5 are likely to be 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.1mm unfolded and 154.9 x 67.1 x 13.4mm when folded. The Z Fold 5 is said to weigh 254g, which is not that much different from its predecessor.

It is otherwise still quite unclear what will make the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 distinctive and innovative. We expect Samsung might have another nice surprise or a well-kept secret for its new device. After all, whether just a new hinge will be enough to win over new consumers remains to be seen.
