New iPhone 16 rumours: bigger screen and new cameras!
While we eagerly await the launch of the iPhone 15 series later this year, rumours about the iPhone 16 models are already buzzing. According to renowned Apple analyst Min-Chi Kuo, we can look forward to larger screen sizes and impressive periscope camera sensors in the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Plus. Read more about these rumours here!
Everything gets bigger
If the rumours are to be believed, everything is going to be a lot bigger on the iPhone 16 models. The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to have a screen diagonal of 6.3" inches, while the screen of the 16 Pro Max is even going to be a whopping 6.9" inches. This represents an increase of 0.2" inches compared to the iPhone 14 Pro generation. This larger size also allows the smart people at Apple to start incorporating a periscope lens in both models of the iPhone 16 Pro. The improved zoom cameras reportedly offer an optical zoom of up to 5-6x.
Small but noticeable differences
The screen enlargement is modest, but it will lead to slightly heavier devices. Especially if this change applies only to Pro models, it will further differentiate the Pros from the standard iPhone, both in functionality and size. So the trend of more differences between the standard and Pro models will then continue. The iPhone 16 models are not expected to be unveiled until around September 2024. Few other rumours have leaked about this upcoming iPhone generation, except that analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also predicts that they will no longer have a notch. He made this prediction back in April 2022, even before Dynamic Island was unveiled. Of course, Apple's plans may have changed in the meantime.
Still unclear about the iPhone 15
As for the iPhone 15, it remains unclear whether the iPhone 15 Pro Max will get a periscope lens, while the smaller iPhone 15 Pro is unlikely to get this feature anyway. Earlier rumours and reports say that the iPhone 16 Pro models will introduce a FaceID at the bottom of the screen, allowing you to make the most of a full-screen display. The iPhone 15 models will be launched in September this year. It is further noteworthy that rumours are already circulating about the iPhone 16 models, while Apple will not release the iPhone 15 models for another four months (in September 2023).
