Samsung releases the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra

During Samsung's big Galaxy Unpacked event, the S23 series has been announced! It consists of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The S23 and slightly larger S23+ have several updates with updated looks, larger battery and a slightly higher price tag. The S23 Ultra is also very innovative with a giga new main camera. Read more about these beautiful new devices from Samsung in this article!

New and minimalist design
What stands out almost immediately is a design change in the Galaxy S23 and S23+ in terms of cameras. Namely, they no longer have a large camera island on the back, but three cameras with their own individual element. This looks a bit sleeker and more minimalist. This is also in line with the Ultra model, which already dropped the camera island design a year ago. That aside, the Galaxy S23 and S23+'s camera and flash are the same as last year. There are also some fun new and playful colours to choose from, namely: cream, vegetable, lavender and phantom black. Are you a fan of flat devices? Then you will definitely be happy with the nice flat screens and flat back where only the metal frame is slightly curved. Very stylish. In addition, the new S23 models are IP68 water resistant which means they can survive up to 30 minutes in fresh water, at a depth of 1.5 metres. So a rain shower is no problem! IP68 also brings dust, dirt and sand resistance. So you don't have to worry if your new Galaxy S23 has to endure some rough weather or terrain.

Durable devices
Samsung says the packaging for the S23 devices is made of a full 100 per cent recyclable materials. The South Korean company also claims the S23 devices are made of 22% recycled materials on average, which is more than previous devices. Also, all S23 devices meet the UL 110 standard for an Ecologo label. These standards include packaging and availability of spare parts. So they are beautiful and durable devices, the S23 models.

New processor and upgrades
As might be expected, Samsung says it will give four years of upgrades and five years of security upgrades. The company also claims further improvements in optical image stabilisation in the camera, 8K video recording with a wider angle of view, better representation of people thanks to new image recognition in videos and audio recording in 360 degrees with Buds2 Pro. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra gets a new primary 200-megapixel camera, which Samsung has already presented recently. But what we are especially excited about is the new SnapDragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy, a gigantically fast new chip. This 5G chip is capable of performing powerful multitasking functions quickly, such as doing multiple things at once on a split screen, app in windows and the desktop mode called Samsung DeX.

Bigger batteries, faster charging
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has a very large battery of up to 5000mAh, which is sure to last a full day with average use. In addition, you use a 45W fast charger to get the device back to full charge in no time at all, you will manage this within an hour. The Galaxy S23's battery is 3900mAh and that of the S23+ 4700mAh. So all just a bit bigger than those of the previous generation. The Galaxy S23 charges you a tad slower at 25W while the S23+ also supports 45W fast charging. All phones also have Fast Wireless Charging 2.0. In addition, the devices also have Wireless PowerShare, which allows you to plop your Samsung Galaxy Buds or smartwatch on the back of your Galaxy S23, the device will then serve as a wireless charger. Very handy!

All in all, quite a few improvements for the S23 over its predecessor, the S22. Which device are you most interested in? In any case, we are already fans!
