Xiaomi unveils new smartphone with 200 megapixel camera!
Interesting news for all Xiaomi smartphone fans: as the Chinese manufacturer has announced its two most important devices of the fall season. Quickly read more about the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro!
New Xiaomi devices
In a number of areas, the new Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro are similar to each other. Namely, they are the same size (6.67" inch screen) and both devices have an AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Both screens have a resolution of 2712x1220 pixels and a built-in fingerprint scanner. The 12T Pro version does have a higher peak brightness and also supports Dolby Vision for HDR videos. Both devices also have the same battery with a 5000mAh battery that can charge quickly through the 120W. This equates to going from 0 to 100% within 20 minutes! And a 5000mAh battery is nice and big anyway where you can last a full day without charging in between.
Differences between the 12T and 12T Pro
Of course, there are certainly some differences to be found between the two devices as well. The biggest of these is in the cameras and chips. For example, the Xiaomi 12T Pro runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip and the Xiaomi 12T runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra chip. Sounds very technical, but the bottom line is that the Pro model will be a lot faster.
Last year, Xiaomi already made similar choices in chips with the 11T devices. Like last year, only the Pro version comes with 12GB of working memory, though both entry-level versions have 8GB of working memory and 128GB of storage.
Camera with up to 200 megapixels!
Yes, you read it right: 200 megapixels. In fact, the 12T Pro is one of the first smartphones with the Samsung 200 megapixel HP1 camera sensor. This is located behind the primary lens and the large number of pixels is used to capture more light, color and detail. The Xiaomi 12T does exactly the same thing but with a 108 megapixel main camera. If you want the photos in full resolution you do have to deal with files tens of mb in size. In addition, both devices have an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Both selfie cameras have to make do with 20 megapixels.
Price, range and color
The Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro will run on Android 12 and will be available in Europe from Oct. 13, so it is a very short wait. For now, the devices are available in black, silver and blue. The Xiaomi 12T can be purchased starting at €599 and the Xiaomi 12T Pro starts at €749. Check out our selection for Xiaomi accessories here!
